Do not train children to learn by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.

Program
The Childrens Nursery School program provides classes from September through May for children ages two through five. Parents may register their children for one, two, three or four mornings or afternoons each week. Morning sessions begin at 9 a.m. Afternoon sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. Each session lasts 2.5 hours.  We also offer full day classes 9:00 am to 3 pm for 3,4,5 year olds.

Staff
A caring and knowledgeable staff with training and experience in early childhood is important to our program. Staff members are trained in CPR and first aid. Volunteers and student teachers from local colleges enhance our program.

Philosophy
The Childrens Nursery School is a part of Peace United Church of Christs ministry to children. It is open to all young children and is non-sectarian.

Our goal is to provide a variety of age-appropriate opportunities, hands-on learning activities that will promote childrens sense of well-being, their development, capabilities and understanding of themselves, others and the world around them.

We encourage children through play and group activities to explore, experience, solve, discover, imagine, create, express, socialize, cooperate, succeed and enjoy!

Children are invited to enjoy the many learning centers in each classroom (art, books, blocks, dramatic play, writing, science, sand and water).

Tuition
See Registration form for tuition & classes.

Parent Involvement
We welcome parent involvement in our program. We encourage parent visits, participation and suggestions.

Snacks
Daily snacks are provided by parents for their childs classroom. Our desire is to have nutritious, low-fat snacks.
