Children's Nursery School

The Children's Nursery School (CNS) at Peace UCC provides a high-quality, play-based, early childhood learning program.

Sara Siefert graduated from Ball State University with a BA in Early Childhood Education in 2003. After graduation Sara worked for Early Childhood Alliance in the Parents as Teachers program, working with parents, child care centers, and preschools on child development. From there Sara went to Easter Seals Arc and worked with the Healthy Families program, home visiting with families and teaching child development. This job sparked an interest in social work, and Sara spent the next 13 years at Positive Resource Connection, where she eventually became the Director of Client Services. Sara felt compelled to return to her roots of education after the long hiatus while working in a corporate setting. In the Fall of 2022, Sara choose the role of the Director of CNS to return to early childhood education. Sara has had 3 of her children attend CNS and was drawn to work here by the teacher’s compassion for all children, the school’s education and guidance philosophy, and the church’s openness and inclusivity. Sara and her husband live in Fort Wayne with their 4 children, and in her spare time she enjoys knitting, yoga, and cooking.

Welcome to Children’s Nursery School at Peace UCC!

CNS is a preschool that operates during the school year and has classes for ages 2-5. Our cut off for birthdays is September 1st. We do not offer full time child care. Our 2023-2024 school year has started and we do have a waitlist for our 2’s, and 3’s AM classes. There are still spots in our PM 3’s class and all of our 4/5’s classes. Please click here for more information on class times and pricing.

If you are interested in registering for one of our classes, please click here to be directed to our online registration. You will be prompted to create a Brightwheel account, which we use for billing, parent communication, registration and enrollment.

CNS utilizes play based learning, which means we want our students busy, active and exploring while they learn. There’s a wealth of evidence that play – both free play and guided play – helps children develop the cognitive and social-emotional skills crucial to long-term school success.

For more information about CNS you can see our parent handbook here. If you are interested in scheduling a tour to visit CNS, please email peacecns@msn.com or call (260) 436-6821.
